For hotel bookings at Hotel Tusculum, Marburg.
This is a translation for your convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.
These General Terms and Conditions apply to contracts for the rental of hotel rooms for accommodation, and to all further services and deliveries provided to the customer by the hotel.
The contract is concluded when the hotel accepts the customer’s application. Acceptance may be given in writing, verbally or by conclusive action.
Free cancellation: the booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the agreed arrival date.
Later cancellation: if you cancel within 24 hours of arrival, 90 % of the agreed room rate is charged.
An exception are the so-called “non-refundable bookings”, which can be made at better rates through the various portals. For these, 100 % of the room rate is due at any time.
In the event of non-arrival (no-show), the full room rate is due.
Unless agreed otherwise, payment is made on departure in cash or by credit card.
A group booking means reservations for 5 people or more (a family with 3 children excepted) or more than 3 rooms.
To secure the booking, a deposit of 50 % of the total amount is to be paid by bank transfer no later than 2 months before the arrival date.

The customer undertakes to provide the hotel with a complete list of participants’ names no later than 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation and payment conditions for discounted long-stay rates (3 nights or more): guests can cancel free of charge up to 14 days before arrival. If a booking is cancelled within the 14 days before arrival, the guest pays 90 % of the total price.
For bookings made by companies, a written declaration of cost coverage is required, signed by the management or by an authorised signatory.
Where no business relationship exists yet, the full room rate is payable in advance for the first booking.
The hotel is entitled to withdraw from the contract for objectively justified reasons, in particular if:
The hotel is liable for its obligations under the contract with the diligence of a prudent business person. Claims by the customer for damages are excluded unless they are based on intentional or grossly negligent conduct by the hotel.
Amendments or additions to the contract, to the acceptance of the application or to these terms and conditions must be made in writing.
Should individual provisions of these General Terms and Conditions be or become invalid or void, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected.
